Modern life is at stake under border dispute

We the people in and around interior of a country have very little idea about how so many people spend their lives on both the sides of a border in between two countries. Social life fails to win over political understanding. How miserable their lives are!

Often the people cross the border to earn their livelihood, tension grows, problems pile up—under unusual circumstances life seem to be somehow indifferent about what goes around their countries. How long the people can stand to those unwanted incidents, is really a matter of deep thinking.

Sorrows and happiness should be well-balanced. Otherwise all the while the desire for exchanging things of perception is inevitable. The earnestness of the habitation for demolishing the border itself once and for all is eventually the consequence. History repeats itself but we are not taught, nor think at all to become wise enough to build up better future. How measurable our life is under political rambling!

After the Fall of Berlin, the people of Germany were divided into two: East and West. The east was dominated by the Soviet Union and the west, by America and its alliance. Initially, the Berlin Wall was simple. Barbed wire and concrete posts were all along 142 km to demarcate the wall.

On 13 April, 1961 all of a sudden the wall was erected with prefabricated concrete slabs to stop infiltration of the habitation from east to the west. Thousands and thousands of people who had been coming everyday to join their duties from east to west weren’t allowed to cross the wall and consequently lost their jobs. So many troubles were thereafter! Oh, what a tragedy!

Life was simply miserable in the west under Soviet communism. In the west it was ever enjoyable amidst mirth and merriment — theaters, night clubs, shopping malls, etc. exchange of love and luxury were simply perished just to pay the price of increasing political tension.

In the mean time disintegration of Soviet Union wasn’t at all any concern. At last on 9 November 1989 the Berlin wall was demolished and both the parts of Germany got united again. How very painful things turned into extremely enjoyable just to show the rest of the world that the rational thinking of some people finally wipes away all political hazards.

Here the existing partition, in between India and Pakistan dividing Punjab and that again between India and Bangladesh dividing Bengal, everyday force so many people face the same problems which has had remained ever unresolved. None thinks least about the feelings of the inhabitants on both the sides. Leaving humanity in the lurch what Political gain do we ensure, please? Are the cases different in Germany and India as a whole?

Now, let’s see how the things are getting confused and confirmed from countries to societies and families. At present we are least interested about the locality or the societies we belong to. We are so much busy in our respective earning and living that hardly we talk to our nearest neighbors. Rather often come to blows for trifling matters, ordinary issues. The very idea of surviving together has been totally lost with the breakdown of joint families.

Disintegration of joint families is no more any concern. As science develops we are growing urbanized. Single families in the urban areas are satisfied with husband, wife and one or two issues. After a few years of adjustment if there is no problem to underline, it’s all beautiful. But if adjustment is not easy possible, tension grows day by day and sometime in future separation is obvious. Leaving children in a helpless situation consequently divorce is unavoidable. Now, let us try to realize the situation the children that they face and have had to, through uncertainty. Aren’t these just bordering disputes? We have long way to go just to prove that we are civilized.

The example that you quoted here seems to be good but i don't think that a such a situation will happen to India-Pakistan. apart from these both, China and US will also intervene and try to widen the gap as much as possible.

The way circumstances are changing these days, is the matter of concern. Earlier people used to have large families and get together on the occasions. Now people don't have time to talk to their own parents, spouse, children. The quality of family life has been degraded for sure.

No one can control all this. This is the way people can live because patience for living in the joint families, do not exist in people. But nuclear families do give you the sense of loneliness.

Dear Prabhunarayan, What will happen and what will not, it’s all as if preordained. If you are a believer will understand easily. Let us aspire and hope for the best. Did we ever think that a color will be the President of the USA? “I have dream” has come to reality. He who has power will predominate. It’s nothing new.

Only yesterday the 9 th instant Israel Prime Minister had to face President Obama. We are to wait and see how Noble Obama tackles the long prevailing discord between Israel and Palestine. Thanking you for your kind note, Prosad. 10. 11. 09.

Dear Swati, Whatever is the situation we must not be depressed. The world is always changing and we have no escape from testing the fruits of good and evil.

Apart from what is inevitable we should cherish at heart how to overcome any situation that comes everyday on our way. Thank you for your kind note.

Dear Andy, Thank you for your kind note. You live in Mumbai, you’re supposed to adjust with the variation, even degeneration at every moment around you.

We have practically nothing to do but to aspire and aspire all the while for the best. Our great leaders think positive, but what about the others? We have no way but to accept everything as it comes to embrace our life. It’s all sheer apathy.
